Dear Africa For Christ Friends
We trust this update finds you well! In this prayer letter please find a miraculous account of what the Lord is doing in Ghana, as well as the wonderful training opportunities our Staff and Church Planters recently experienced.
Its like the Book of Acts!
Akosua (picture below) lives in the Volta Region of Ghana. Some 3 years ago our Partner in Ghana, Wisdom Ameku, sent an evangelism team to the region and Akosua came to faith. A Discovery Bible Study was introduced and as a result of the Holy Spirit working, great persecution arose against the believers. The Village said because of the believer’s prayers, the “gods” had forsaken their village.
Wisdom writes: “One day three hired assassins came to her residence and one of them attempted stabbing her with a sharpened knife, but she called out the name Jesus Christ and the man’s right hand was held up for five minutes. The other two were stunned by the supernatural intervention of God. Then the man who whose hand became stiff collapsed and was sprawling on the ground. The others confessed to her that they have been hired to assassinate her, but she is more powerful than the Spells they came with. Then the other two carried their colleague and went away.” Praise the Lord for His miraculous intervention!
Wonderful Opportunities to Grow!
Some of our AFC Staff and Church Planters were recently blessed to attend two trainings in South Africa. The sessions in Johannesburg were focused on more effective Church Planting though Discipleship Making Movement principles (DMM), and in Limpopo training was centered on the Dr. Bruce Wilkerson Teach Every Nation (TEN) outline – such as the 70 X 7 focus on Forgiveness etc. It was a wonderful time of growth and fellowship and we particularly grateful to Cypress Bible Church that sponsored some of the training costs.
Praise points
For all the Lord is doing in Ghana and other areas in Africa suffering persecution.
Wonderful opportunities for training and personal growth.
Pray for:
Protection for believers where there is much opposition – particularly in Ghana, Somalia and Burkina Faso.
Those who attended the trainings would have the wisdom and open door to implement what they learnt.
With much appreciation
Gary
