Dear Partners

Greetings in Jesus wonderful Name! This month has been a time of great joy for AFC in South Africa – we had our annual national conference. 50 Church planters from across the country gathered together for a week and enjoyed a time of refreshing. See below for more details.

Teaching, Input and Peer Reflection

Our Conference theme this year was “Ministry to BROKENNESS”. We did not realize how deeply each of our church planters would connect with this theme – but it was soon apparent that each one of them lives and ministers among very broken people in a very broken society. Alick Banda from Malawi spoke on reaching out to the broken in our communities. Thomas Maphophe shared about brokenness in families and in the church.

Shadrack Monageng shared about personal brokenness. Shadrack also did a very popular two part workshop on Marriage in the afternoons. As always there were sessions on training everyone to become disciple makers, and emphasizing the raising of leaders in each church plant. See GROUP PHOTO below.

Testimonies from Conference

Several of our church planters were completing their 5 year term with AFC, and were given opportunity to share. One brother shared how him and his wife could not have children and when they asked AFC family to pray for them – they now have a 15 month old son! Another church planter shared how when he joined AFC he was living in a shack and sleeping on a wooden crate with his family. AFC helped with a water filter pump which he used to start a business. He now has built a house for his family, has two small businesses, and his church is over 100 people in membership – we give glory to God in the highest!! We also heard testimonies from 3 different leaders working in Malawi – of many discipleship Bible studies being started, of ministry across the river into Mozambique by boat, and of empowering many pastors to share Christ with Muslims in Malawi. See PHOTO below of the Malawi leaders at our conference.

Praise points

  • For a successful national conference and safe travels.

  • For great input to church planters in training and personal growth.

Pray for:

  • Arnold and Alick who return to cutting edge ministries in Malawi.

  • For our church planters to return and see a difference in their marriages , ministry and outreach from the input they received.

Many blessings
